Tabesh
University was established in accordance with the higher education strategy of
the Ministry of Higher Education and with the objective of supporting the
private sector. It was officially registered with the Ministry of Higher
Education on 12 December 2009 under registration number (21). The University
commenced its academic activities in the Lab-e-Jar Chahar Rahi area of Kabul
city, initially offering programs through four faculties: Economics, Law and
Political Science, Sharia (Islamic Studies), and Journalism.
In
2012, Tabesh University opened its first branch campus in Maidan Wardak
Province, where academic activities began under two faculties: Economics and
Law and Political Science.
On
26 February 2017, following a positive evaluation by the Ministry of Higher
Education, Tabesh was upgraded from an institute to a university, and was
granted official university status under license number (24). In late 2023, the
ownership and operational scope of Tabesh University were transferred, and the
University was relocated to Jalalabad City, Nangarhar Province. Currently,
Tabesh University proudly provides standardized academic, educational, and
research services to the people of the Eastern Zone through four faculties:
Economics, Computer Science, Sharia (Islamic Studies), and Law and Political
Science. According to the most recent evaluation conducted by the Directorate
of Academic Supervision and Evaluation, the University is rated as being in a
very good condition.
Under
the supervision and guidance of a committed, sincere, and specialized
leadership, and through the dedicated efforts of a competent, experienced, and
professional academic and administrative team, Tabesh University successfully
completed the first phase of Quality Assurance and Accreditation on 3 July
2017, by securing a score of 58.35%. Preparatory visits for the second and
third phases (pre-reaccreditation visits) have already been conducted, and the
formal reaccreditation process is expected to take place in the near future,
leading to the attainment of full academic accreditation, Insha’Allah.
Tabesh
University offers a comprehensive learning environment equipped with standard
classrooms, a physical library, digital library, legal clinic, health clinic,
psychological counseling center, business innovation center, professional
development center, research laboratory, computer laboratory, hardware lab,
software lab, a standard conference hall, and various other essential
facilities. To enhance students’ practical learning and extracurricular
engagement, the University has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with several
reputable national and international institutions.
